A visit by Paul Thomas [Chaplain to South Wales Fire and Rescue Service] to the Fire and Rescue Service H.Q. Kampala, some 7 years ago, coincided with a local fire fighting team’s return from rescuing babies dropped into pit latrines in outlying villages. Paul shared their distress and in discussion with Pastors Joseph and Freda Serwadda conceived the vision of T y Cariad as a house to receive and nurture abandoned babies and young children for future adoption, thereby complementing the long established work of V.C.C.P.
